Main areas of action

Lung cancer
This is currently the leading cause of cancer deaths. We offer our patients a programme for the early detection of lung cancer, diagnosis and staging of the extent of the disease in order to recommend the best treatment in each case.
Screening for lung cancer is recommended for people at high risk of developing this disease. Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Age between 55 and 80.
 - History of smoking, smoking the equivalent of one packet a day for 20 years.
 - Active smokers or those who have given up smoking less than 15 years ago.

Among those who do not meet the three criteria above, we may consider other criteria, such as a young family history of lung cancer, living or having lived in environments exposed to radon, having received radiotherapy for breast or mediastinal cancer, having been exposed to asbestos, or coexistence of another respiratory disease such as COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, etc.
Low-dose computed tomography is used for screening, exposing the patient to a very small dose of radiation (equivalent to a quarter of the radiation a person receives from natural sources in a year).

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
Today, we have classification systems and treatments that significantly modify the natural course of the disease.

Asthma
We offer personalised monitoring of asthma patients so that they can live their lives without limitations.

Tobacco dependence
We diagnose the type and level of physical and psycho-behavioural dependence, we quantify the degree of motivation and offer the best treatments. Under the best conditions, this allows us to achieve abstinence rates of over 40% per year.

Respiratory infections
Personalised treatment of tracheobronchial infections, pneumonias, tuberculosis and respiratory infections in immunocompromised patients.

Fibrosing pulmonary diseases
Differential diagnosis of the various causes, selection of the required diagnostic tests, discussion of cases in a multidisciplinary committee, and selection of the best treatments tailored to each patient.

Chronic respiratory failure
Diagnosis of the cause and selection of different types of treatment: oxygen therapy, CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) and home mechanical ventilation.
