Luis Miguel Seijo Maceiras

A clinician and researcher trained at Columbia University (BA) and the University of Pennsylvania (MD), and a medical doctor from the Universidad de Navarra. He coordinated the CIBERES lung cancer research strategic plan (2016-2018), the SEPAR thoracic oncology area (2021-2023), and the SEPAR Year of Early Lung Cancer Detection. He is currently co-coordinator of the national pilot lung cancer screening project (CASSANDRA) and principal investigator in Spain for several EU-funded projects (SOLACE, SOLACE+, and SPACETIME). He was appointed associate editor of Archivos de Bronconeumologia in 2024 and represents the ERS at the European Cancer Organization. He was head of the Pulmonology Department at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra until 2026. Dr. Seijo is the current head of the Pulmonology Department at the Quiron Madrid, La Luz, Ruber Juan Bravo, and Valle del Henares hospitals and coordinates research on respiratory diseases at the IIS of the Jiménez Díaz Foundation.
