Urology
The Urology Service at Olympia Centro Médico Pozuelo, in collaboration with Hospital Universitario Quirónsalud Madrid, is led by Doctors Víctor Díez Nicolás and José Manuel Rodríguez Luna.
This is a highly specialised department, the purpose of which is to meet patient’s needs in the most personalised and professional way, thereby improving their life expectancy and quality of life.
We provide comprehensive care in all areas of urology, using the latest technology available and our extensive experience in the minimally invasive treatment of any pathology.
Our activity is based on four fundamental pillars: experience, research, technology and teaching, which guarantee excellent care.
Units available
Within the medical Unit, there are specific areas of work for each of the specialities:
Oncological Urology
Focused on the treatment of urological cancer (prostate, kidney, bladder, testicular, adrenal) using a multidisciplinary approach and the latest technology available. To this end, the unit works alongside the Radiology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Pathology services, thus establishing the best personalised treatment for each patient, with special attention to personal and emotional care.
Of particular note among the diagnostic techniques used, is the early detection of prostate cancer using magnetic resonance imaging and subsequent image-guided transperineal prostate biopsy (fusion).
Lithiasis Unit
This unit focuses on the minimally invasive treatment of urinary stones, using minimally invasive laser lithotripsy with state-of-the-art rigid and flexible endoscopes.
Functional and Female Urology Unit
Focuses on pathologies related to both male and female incontinence, urinary dysfunction and pelvic organ prolapse. By applying the latest rehabilitation technologies, such as neurostimulation and biofeedback (a technique that allows people to obtain real-time information about their physiological functions), as well as the most innovative techniques and treatments, such as intravesical botulinum toxin, urinary sphincters and slings, this area allows our patients to regain their quality of life.
Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
This treatment is extremely important within the service, as it allows patients who have lost their urinary function and quality of life due to age-related enlargement of the prostate gland to recover through the application of state-of-the-art technologies, such as Holmium laser or prostatic vaporisation.
Andrology Area
At Olympia Centro Médico Pozuelo, we treat sexual disorders, which are extremely prevalent and require personalised, confidential care. Through precise diagnostic techniques, such as Doppler ultrasound of the corpora cavernosa with provocation, we can obtain an accurate diagnosis that allows us to determine the most suitable treatment, whether medical-pharmacological, rehabilitative or surgical.
The area also provides a wide range of services, including medical treatment for erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation, rehabilitation treatment for sexual function using shock waves, and minimally invasive treatment for penile curvature or lengthening.
