It performs the integral surgical approach of the oncological patient, both programmed and of urgency, and coordinates the contribution of other surgeons with the specific specialization in specific areas. In addition to conventional surgical techniques, advanced techniques of reconstructive and minimally invasive surgery are used in the context of the interdisciplinary programs of the Oncology Platform. It has a modern technology in the operating rooms and the necessary knowledge to apply the most innovative surgeries in this field, such as intraoperative radiotherapy with accelerator installed in the surgical area (Mobetron), intraperitoneal chemotherapy with heperthermia (HIPEC) , isolated limb perfusion with TNF and melphalan or electrochemotherapy.
Under the auspices of the TEDECA foundation, the robotic surgery program applied to Oncology has been launched, with the incorporation of a Da Vinci surgical robot..
