Quirónsalud Marbella Hospital stood out at the Sixth Edition of the Best Spanish Hospital Awards, which acknowledge excellence in Spanish private and public acute patient hospitals for their healthcare efficiency, appropriateness and quality indicators. At the awards ceremony held yesterday in Madrid, our Marbella hospital was distinguished as the best private hospital in terms of its healthcare assessment based on value and it was recognised as a finalist for its maternity and infant processes.

The first award is a recognition to the work of the Hospital Archives and Documentation Department on the compilation of direct information from patients who have undergone surgery at the Urology and the General and Digestive Tract Surgery Units. A documentary and analytic phase aimed at the optimisation of our healthcare processes and, consequently, the improvement of patient experience.

The second award, a finalist mention, was given to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit as well as to the Paediatrics Unit in recognition for the clinical processes implemented at the Maternity and Infant Unit. In this sense, an in-depth assessment of the protocols relating to the care of women and their babies has been put in place during pregnancy, childbirth, afterbirth and the specific processes in Neonatology for patients ages 2 to 14.

A total of eight establishments of the Quirónsalud Group have received recognitions at the Sixth Edition of the BSH (Best Spanish Hospitals) Awards, given by specialist consultancy Higia Benchmarking with the purpose of promoting medical practices that contribute to the ongoing improvement of hospitals in Spain.

The specific hospitals that received awards to the best hospital for its medical processes were Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz in the category of highly-technological hospitals, and Hospital Universitari Sagrat Cor in the category of large private hospitals.

Quirónsalud Toledo Hospital was distinguished as the best A&E hospital in the country under the category of intermediate private hospitals, and Hospital Universitari General de Catalunya obtained the same award in the category of best private large hospital.

Also Quirónsalud Sagrado Corazón Hospital was awarded as best hospital in cost-effectiveness, under the category of large private hospitals.

Hospital Universitari Sagrat Cor also received an award to the best hospital for its intensive care units under the category of large private hospitals, and Hospital Universitario Rey Juan Carlos received the same award under the category of general and reference hospitals.

Hospitals from all over Spain participated in the Sixth Edition of the BSH Awards, which assess seven categories of awards and six hospital groups, up to 110 clinical processes and nearly 50 indicators per process, thus making up a study framework of over 3,000 results per hospital.

Amongst the finalists there were other Quirónsalud establishments such as Quirónsalud A Coruña Hospital, a finalist in the category of best hospitals for its intensive care units and also in the category of best hospitals for its medical processes, for which other finalists were Hospital Universitario Rey Juan Carlos and Hospital Quirónsalud del Vallès, which, together with Quirónsalud Sagrado Corazón Hospital in Seville, were also finalists in the category of best A&E hospitals.
