The Infection Control Programme run by Quirónsalud Marbella through its Preventive Medicine Service is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating infection prevention and control programmes across the hospital, as well as supporting and advising on accreditation processes. Specific activities include:
- Coordinating policy on the development of the infection control programme
- Infection Control Committee
- Hand hygiene
- Surveillance, prevention and control of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HCAIs)
- Surveillance systems
- Prevention of the most prevalent HCAIs
- Control of HCAIs
- Advice on vaccination programmes for at-risk groups
- Management of multidrug-resistant and emerging organisms
- Advice on managing notifiable diseases and health alerts
- Environmental biosafety policy
- Isolation policy
- Coordination with general/support services
- Training, research and teaching within the infection control programme
