Dr. Boix was born in Valencia and, after four years of medical school there, completed his degree at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He specialized in Neonatology in the United Kingdom, primarily at King's College London and Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne. He returned to Spain and worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Hospital Universitario Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona from 2007 to 2021, combining clinical care and research. In 2018, he was appointed Head of the Pediatric Department at Hospital Quironsalud Barcelona. Since June 2021, he has been the Regional Director of Pediatrics for Quirónsalud in the Barcelona area. His research interests include the transition from fetus to newborn, with an emphasis on the neonatal neurological and respiratory systems. He has published numerous articles and is a reviewer for several international journals. He is a member of the Spanish Society of Neonatology (SENeo), the European Society of Pediatrics (ESPR), and the European Neonatal Board (EBN). He has been ranked among the top 5 pediatricians in Spain by Forbes, El Confidencial and Consalud from 2020 to today.
