Pelvic venous insufficiency is an underdiagnosed disease that affects a large number of patients, especially women, and whose proper recognition remains a challenge in daily clinical practice. For this reason, on Monday, Boston Scientific hosted the official presentation of the Atlas of Pelvic Venous Insufficiency, a pioneering work by Drs. Pablo Gallo González, head of the Angiology and Vascular Surgery Unit at Ruber Internacional Hospital, and Santiago Zubicoa Ezpeleta, head of the Vascular Radiology Unit at the same centre, both renowned specialists in the endovascular approach and diagnosis of venous pathology.

With more than 300 pages and 200 high-definition radiological images, the work offers a comprehensive overview of the disease. The authors compile real cases, exclusive diagnostic images and detailed explanations of endovascular techniques, with an eminently practical approach.

The atlas also highlights the importance of using compression garments in the management of pelvic venous disease, from relieving symptoms in the legs and genital region to their essential role in complex situations such as May-Thurner syndrome, post-thrombotic syndrome, or the presence of collateral veins in the context of deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

During the presentation, Drs Gallo and Zubicoa emphasised that this book is the only atlas currently published on pelvic venous insufficiency, making it an essential tool for interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, gynaecologists, vascular physicians and other professionals who deal with this pathology.
The publication also includes technical advice and endovascular and medical treatment, bringing together the experience of two leading specialists in the field of venous pathology.
