Ruber Internacional Centro Médico Habana incorporates non-invasive technology to detect fibrosis and fat in the liver

Ruber Internacional Medical Centre Havana has incorporated new diagnostic technology that allows for simple, quick and non-invasive assessment of liver stiffness and fat content. This tool offers an effective alternative to liver biopsy, facilitating the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases such as chronic hepatitis, fatty liver disease and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.
The procedure is based on a painless and risk-free examination for the patient, which uses elastic waves and ultrasound to measure the stiffness of the liver tissue and estimate the degree of fibrosis and fat accumulation. In just a few minutes, specialists can obtain accurate information about the condition of the liver and tailor treatment or follow-up on an individual basis.
‘The great advantage is that we can assess the condition of the liver without subjecting the patient to invasive procedures. This allows us to detect abnormalities earlier and improve the monitoring of the disease's progression,’ explain the specialists in diseases of the digestive tract, liver and pancreas at the Madrid centre on Paseo de la Habana.
With the incorporation of this technology, based on the FibroScan system, widely implemented in hepatology units around the world, Ruber Internacional Centro Médico Habana is positioning itself as a leader in liver diagnosis within private healthcare, offering patients a state-of-the-art tool that avoids invasive procedures and speeds up the detection of disease.
