Dr. Juan García Prieto

Dr. Juan García Prieto, born in 1972 in Valencia, studied Medicine and Surgery at the University of Valencia, graduating in 1997. He studied Family and Community Medicine at the Albacete General Hospital until 2003. He underwent a Masters in Palliative Care and Clinical Management of Pain from the University of Valladolid in 2008. Since 2003, his work is centred around Palliative Medicine and Care for terminally ill patients. He joined Dr. Poveda's Team in 2007 till present, and is the head of the Hospitalisation Unit. In 2006 he joined the Home Hospitalisation Unit of the Valencia General Hospital and the Continuous Care Unit of the Mislata Military Hospital, moving in 2009 to the 23rd Health Department of the Valencian government's Ministry of Health at the Manises Hospital. As a result, he has significant experience in the care and initial approach of Cancer Patients and Oncological Emergencies, delivering various training lectures on Oncological Emergencies and Care of terminally ill Patients. He is a member of the Spanish and Valencian Society of Palliative Medicine.
