The management of musculoskeletal disorders during childhood requires a highly specialized approach. Children are not simply small adults: their bones, muscles, and joints are constantly growing and developing, making the diagnosis and treatment of their conditions dependent on specific expertise and care tailored to each stage of development.

With the aim of continuing to provide outstanding care, the team led by Dr. Inmaculada Gómez Arrayás, Head of the Traumatology Department at Ruber Internacional Hospital, part of the Quirónsalud Group, has strengthened its Pediatric Orthopedics and Traumatology Unit with the addition of three specialists of nationally and internationally recognized prestige: Dr. Javier Alonso Hernández, Dr. Sergio Martínez-Álvarez, and Dr. Carlos Miranda-Gorozarri.

This expansion represents a significant boost for a unit committed to personalized care, therapeutic innovation, and a multidisciplinary approach to pediatric orthopedic and trauma conditions.

Dr. Javier Alonso Hernández brings more than 25 years of experience and an outstanding clinical and surgical career. He is a leading expert in the treatment of congenital malformations, lower-limb deformities, sports injuries, pediatric fractures, hip disorders, and skeletal dysplasias, including achondroplasia. His addition to the team will strengthen the management of complex conditions that require a high level of specialization and a comprehensive understanding of child development.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sergio Martínez-Álvarez currently heads the Upper Limb Unit at Niño Jesús University Children's Hospital and is a member of the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (EPOS). His professional reputation has made him one of the foremost experts in pediatric upper-limb disorders, including congenital, neurological, and post-traumatic conditions, as well as the treatment of complex syndromes.

Completing the team is Dr. Carlos Miranda-Gorozarri, a specialist with extensive experience in the treatment of sports injuries in children and adolescents, knee arthroscopy, and the correction of angular deformities. His professional career also includes serving as a member of the medical team of the Spanish National Football Team, a role that has provided him with valuable insight into high-performance sports medicine applied to pediatric patients.

The addition of these three professionals strengthens a healthcare portfolio designed to provide specialized solutions for children and adolescents with orthopedic and trauma-related conditions. It also expands the diagnostic and therapeutic options available, ensuring care based on scientific evidence and the most advanced techniques.

For Dr. Inmaculada Gómez Arrayás, this reinforcement means "continuing to build a center of excellence capable of providing comprehensive and highly specialized care to our youngest patients, supporting each family throughout the entire healthcare journey."
