First international workshop on the minimally invasive surgical treatment of abdominal cancer

The Spanish Society of Surgical Oncology (SEOQ) whose president is Dr. Pedro Bretcha Boix and is Chief of General Surgery and Gastrointestinal and Oncological Surgery of Quirónsalud Torrevieja and Alicante organizes the "First International Workshop on the Minimally Invasive Surgical Treatment of Abdominal Cancer " The conference includes the participation of Dr. Cortés Guiral, member of SEOQ and member of the young surgeons section of the European Society of Surgical Oncology.

The meeting takes place at the Miguel Hernández Medical University of San Juan (Alicante) during today and tomorrow, June 4, being the first international workshop on the minimally invasive surgical treatment of abdominal cancer. The conference will feature top international experts from multiple countries, including New Zealand, Taiwan, Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Egypt, etc.

This practical course, aimed at young surgeons, aims to show the latest advances in the surgical treatment of peritoneal carcinomatosis and will consist of lectures and practical sessions whose themes will revolve around laparoscopic surgery and HIPEC approach to peritoneal carcinomatosis, peritonectomy laparoscopic and novel techniques such as immunofluorescence and the PIPAC technique.
