Penile Cancer
Penile cancer is prevalent in Western countries, among Hispanic populations, and in areas with a high prevalence of the human papillomavirus (HPV). It typically presents as a primary lesion in the form of an ulcer, with or without palpable regional lymph nodes.
To complete the staging diagnosis, imaging tests such as computed axial tomography (CT scan) are performed.
In our department, we offer different treatment options for localized penile cancer:
- Organ-preserving surgery (laser, brachytherapy, Mohs surgery)
- Total or partial penectomy
- External radiotherapy
Surgical treatment may need to be complemented with chemotherapy.
Retroperitoneal Cancer
These are tumors that grow in the retroperitoneal space from different tissues such as vascular, nervous, muscular, and lymphatic tissues. They require different types of treatment and, in many cases, a multidisciplinary approach.
