Hospital care in your home

The Home Care Unit at Ruber Internacional Hospital, in collaboration with Galeneo Health, brings hospital care to the patient's home with the same standards of safety, quality and clinical excellence that characterise the hospital.

This service is designed so that each patient receives specialised medical, nursing and therapeutic care at home, with direct clinical monitoring by the Ruber Internacional Hospital team and operational support from Galeneo, a leader in home medical care.

Care services

All care is planned on an individual basis and under the direct supervision of the medical team at Ruber Internacional Hospital.

  • Home hospitalisation
Allows treatment or recovery to continue at home, with medical and nursing supervision, without compromising hospital safety.
  • Post-operative care
Care in the first few days after surgery to reduce risks, control pain and promote a more comfortable recovery.
  • Care for chronic and complex patients
Aimed at people with long-term illnesses or dependency. We coordinate care, treatment and communication with the hospital to maintain clinical stability.
  • Specialised nursing programmes
Advanced wound care, catheter and tube management, medication administration, symptom control and support for carers and family members.
  • Supportive therapies
Complementary services including physiotherapy, speech therapy, psychology, occupational therapy, cognitive stimulation, nutrition, and social work.
Phases of the care programme

Our model adapts to the patient's progress, always ensuring the appropriate level of supervision and care.

1. Subacute phase – intensive medical and nursing monitoring.

2. Recovery phase – gradual reduction in visits, with active monitoring.

3. Maintenance phase – flexible and remote support to promote patient autonomy.

Scientific evidence

The home-based medicine model is backed by international studies that confirm its safety, efficacy and clinical benefits, offering results equivalent to conventional hospitalisation:

  • Lower risk of hospital-acquired infections
  • Greater patient satisfaction and comfort
  • Faster recovery
  • Reduction in hospital readmissions
