Urothelial Cancer
Urothelial cancer originates in the pyelocaliceal cavities and ureter and accounts for 5-10% of urothelial cancers.
Risk Factors and Symptoms
The most important risk factor is smoking. Its most important symptoms are blood in the urine, which can sometimes cause pain accompanied by weight loss and weakness.
It is based on urine cytology and imaging tests (computed axial tomography and/or magnetic resonance imaging).
Surgery is the first treatment option and consists of complete resection of the kidney and ureter along with the regional lymph nodes (nephroureterectomy).
In low-grade tumours, conservative surgery can be performed, allowing the patient to treat their cancer while preserving their kidney through endoscopic treatment of the tumour.
At our centre, we offer our patients the latest technology for the control of this disease.
